JUNIOR GIRLS WIN STATE TITLE

The Saint Paul Curling Club Junior Girls team won the Minnesota State Junior Girls Championship held in Eveleth over the New Year’s weekend.  The Carlson Rink, consisting of Alex Carlson, Tabitha Peterson, Tara Peterson, and Sophie Brorson (Duluth), was coached by Nick Myers.

The team went 5-0 in round robin play and defeated the Aileen Sormunen rink from Duluth in the final.  They will go on to compete at the Junior Nationals, which is being held in Duluth from January 28-February 4.

The last time the SPCC won the Junior Girls State title was in 1988.  Congratulations and good luck girls!
