League Descriptions

This league is an open league, and meets most Mondays during the curling season. Draw time is always 4:30pm. Due to its early start, members must make sure they are available to start. This league is ideal for retired members, or members that do not work during the daytime. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age.

This league is an open league, and meets most Mondays during the curling season. Draw times start alternatively at 6:30 and 8:30pm. Members must make sure they are available for both time periods. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age.

This league is a women's only league. This league is not run directly by the curling club, but instead by the "Cairn Lassies" Ladies. Play is considered semi-competitive/social. This group meets on Tuesday mornings each week at 10am, followed by lunch after the game. Teams may be comprised of only women.

This league is an open league, and meets most Tuesdays during the curling season. Draw times are always 4:50pm. Due to its early start, members must make sure they are available to start on time. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age.

This league is a competitive open league - also known as the "Super League", and meets most Tuesdays during the curling season. In general, due to the competitive nature of this league, "first time" players are not normally encouraged to register. Teams curling in this draw also tend to register for competitive bonspiels and state play-downs. Draw times start alternatively at 6:55 and 9pm. Members must make sure they are available for both time periods. Some members also sign up for the Tuesday, 6:55 & 9pm Open League (described above) so they can curl 4 hours straight. If both leagues are selected, the club manager will try and make sure that your draw times do not conflict. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age.

The league will be structured like an evening open league. League winners will qualify for playoffs and teams will be eligible to play in the flights. This is an excellent opportunity for 2nd and 3rd shifters, retiree’s, students or people who cannot get enough curling during the evening. The day league will play several more games than evening leagues without byes and all at a reduced price. This is a regular open league with full SPCC membership included.

This league is a men's only league, and meets most Wednesdays during the curling season. Draw times are always 4:50pm. Due to its early start, members must make sure they are available to start. Teams may be comprised of men only of any age.

This league is the SPCC women's league. The Bonnies have their own Board of Directors. Play is considered semi-competitive, with a few novice and competitive teams also playing each year. This group meets on Wednesday's each week. All games are played at 6:55pm. Teams must be comprised of women only of any age.

This league used to be restricted to players with 5 years or less curling experience. However, many players now have more than five years experience. So, consider this league still a "good place" for both first-time curlers, and curlers with moderate experience. Draw times are always 9pm. All games will be 8 ends. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age. This league is recommended for players who want to try out skipping or third'ing for the first time, and "Juniors" with above levels of talent. Juniors wishing to join this league must first receive permission from the club manager who will evaluate such request.

This league is an open league, and meets most Thursdays during the curling season. Draw times are always 4:50pm. Due to its early start, members must make sure they are available to start. Teams may be comprised of any combination of men and women of any age.

This league is a social mixed league, and ideal for first time curlers - as well as people who curl more for fun than the competitive aspect. This league is not run directly by the curling club, but instead by a committee that runs all draw times for the Mixed League. Some Friday dates throughout the year are not available for use by the Mixed Fun League, and thus some months, you will only curl 1, 2 or 3 Fridays. This league meets for draw times of 5pm only. Teams must include 2 males and 2 females, and each position must alternate male and female. Only FULL-YEAR registration will be accepted. See note** in below section regarding curlers wanting to register "half-seasons"

This league is not run directly by the curling club, but instead by a committee that runs all draw times for the Mixed Fun League. Some Friday dates throughout the year are not available for use by the Mixed Fun League, and thus some months, you will only curl 1, 2 or 3 Fridays. Teams must include 2 males and 2 females, and each position must alternate male and female. Only FULL-YEAR registration will be accepted.
